Members may be familiar with the schwellenpflug or sleeper plough used by the retreating German army towards the end of WW2.
I'm not currently at liberty to say how I know this (so please don't turn this into a guessing game) but a surviving example may be in need of a new home in the UK.
Can members suggest an appropriate railway museum or heritage line that might be interested in having one on permanent loan? The one caveat would be that visitors will actually be able to see it as opposed to it being tucked away in a shed away from public view.
    Thanks.

Interesting. There used to be one at Marchwood. Vanished several years ago.

The Mangapps Railway Museum has previous form for preserving unusual items that might not have obvious uses on the major heritage lines.

The logical place is the Imperial War Museum but their exhibit policy these days seems to be very different.
I would suggest one of the railways which puts on a significant WWII event such as GCR, SVR and GWSR.
I'd be lynched if I suggested the Cambrian after we have spent so much time on replacing and upgrading track ;-)

If the device is in working condition.
Could it be used on a potential renewal site on a heritage line for a one off re enactment purposess?
