Was just admiring the L&B calendar photograph for May - Charles Whytock looks really good. BTW, has anyone else spotted the error for last Friday on the calendar?

We seem to have celebrated Good Friday again. I thought we'd already done that on 2 April.

Wow! ..... 1000% improvement. Many congratulations to the team on a fantastic transformation. Will the signal(s) be sporting (a representation of) arms, ahead of reopening, or would that just be asking for trouble?

Enquiry: How on earth did chocolate in those old Nestlé machines not melt on a hot day?

Bring back Bar 6 and Amazin’ Raisin, I’m sure I only ever saw them in Tube Station platform vending machines (abolished after the Kings X fire). And Toffets.

Bar 6! God, I'd forgotten all about that one, it was a really good. And Payne's chocolate raisins, in those little flat boxes, too. They were another childhood travelling treat.

Those bars of nestles chocolate with a red wrapper, sized to fit a Players cigarette packet that they sold from platform vending machines were imho the best chocolate ever. I was based at Oswestry. There would be a dozen or so of us on the train to Brummy new Street. There was a one minute stop at Shrewsbury, and you had to get off the train, over the footbridge, buy as many bars of chocolate as you could, and get back over and onto the now moving train. I think it was 3 10p coins, then pull the drawer. And repeat.
One time, trying to get enough for all, the train was moving as I ran over it. The guard, laughing, hauled me into the van at about 30mph, then caught up my kit that my mates had helpfully chucked onto the platform for me.
