Is the steam coming off at Hellifield today or is it just another quirk of the RTT system that the "load" changes

Cannot imagine it will as they would need a diesel to get the train back to Preston and under the wires!

Steam scheduled to Preston, don't want to lose anymore mileage! Nice exchange of whistles with Tornado outside Carlisle.

The main 'servicing' the stock gets these days is a good clean of all hard surfaces with anti-bacterial liquid. With a full staff, this can be done pretty quickly.

Ralph I thought on a CME the tanks normally got replenished by the station staff at Carlisle as well. One of the few places station staff get involved, although that was 2019 when I was last there, so may be different now.

There is the problem at Carlisle of platform 1 being out of use as I mentioned in the Dalesman thread so on Tuesday we were moved out to the sidings so no water taken at all and only back with about 15 minutes to go.

Not seen a thread yet for the CME tours so Apologies if I’m wrong.
35018 had the honour of the 1st tour but things went awry a tad . 35018 is seen near Scout Green and at Birkett Common .
