Not attended the event myself, but did see some pictures from the Gala and in a nice touch, 2678 has regained her Isle of Wight identity of W14 with Bembridge nameplates for the event.W24 is also looking rather nice in her Malachite livery.

Had a super day out at the IOWSR on (a very hot and sunny) Saturday. A great event, very well managed - lots of visitors (sold out on Saturday via advance sales) but Havenstreet has the space to spread them widely, and spaces on trains were pre-booked in advance. What a place the IOWSR is, it really sets a benchmark in terms of combining nostalgia, education, and fun. Little touches like a children's trail at Havenstreet really help the family appeal at very little cost to the railway. We had a lovely round trip behind Calbourne, and the visiting Terrier was cunningly modified into an IOW livery with strategically placed sticky-back plastic.
