    E-mail from RTC:
11th July Royal Duchy is now going to only be steam hauled from Taunton-Plymouth and Plymouth-Taunton.

Reason given is that an engineering block is preventing the train going through Reading early enough to allow sufficient time for Tornado to be serviced at Plymouth and head down to Par to join the return working.

Bit disappointing, was looking forward to steam through Cornwall in at least one direction!

As were we all. Worse is not getting to Par until 1452 that means the buses won't get to Fowey or Charlestown until 1515 or so. then with a departure time of 1729 there won't be much over an hour for passengers to get fed and watered. Seriously disappointing day.

All the Duchy's now show a 14:52 arrival time, and steam only between Taunton and Plymouth.

That's a shame. The run back from Par up to Doublebois is seriously entertaining.

Yeah it's a bit of a blow. I'm booked on the one with Bahamas on 1st August, although I note that RTC have now removed the reference to Bahamas from the description. Does anyone know if the problem with the Par turntable is ever going to be fixed?

Anyone going out for tomorrow’s Cotswold Venturer with Flying Scotsman note this update from RTC:

‘Please note that this train now goes out via Evesham and returns via Stroud and Kemble’.

Still nothing on RTT for it though. They're obviously worried about trespassers and crowds!

Not seen a route on RTT for this one yet Assuming the departure time is correct I can guess based on past trips.

Edit - slow to the party again

After last October's fiasco, I wouldn't go anywhere near The Golden Valley, especially for this particular locomotive!

Tricky lighting conditions into the morning sun, but wanted to catch it on the rarely used (for steam) main down out of Pad, just before it slowed for Southall West Jn.
