So, is Lizzie now undercover as promised by the Heritage Centre Trustee?...or rotting at the will of the elements outside?...D 1963, you seem quiet vocal in defence of the centre, and it's allegence to the loco and defiance of what has happened to their CME....care to comment?

As an aside, R.T.C. asked for us to be stabled overnight at the Heritage Centre overnight last December, I refused, stating that I would rather our tour be cancelled than overnight there and contribute whilst they were assisting such a downright traversty!...the pathing and stabling was revised.................

Perhaps a bit unfair on the CHC to associate them with the Lizzie fiasco, as in the Jan 09 6201 Newsletter, a statement from the CHC clear states, that the offer of accomodation at Crewe had been made for 6201, with the specific rider "at the end of its working life".

 

Good point, 6201 is only at Crewe because she went out of ticket while there, due to cancellation of its move back to ELR, more interference by Chairman and wife?????

A statement in the recent society magazine stated that statements were being made on various chatrooms and websites regarding the operation (or not) of the locomotive. These do not represent the views of 6201.
Members were advised that any official statements on policy, main line operation or any other aspect of the society would only be released in the newsletter.
Any information is, at best going to be 3 weeks and at worst 3 months out of date when the members get to read it.
Get up to date and use the technology available.

With elitiest statements like this.. from someone who is it's member, in my opinion, it says only 1 thing about the group he clearly represents -- stay away, dont donate, boycott this engine, dont ride on it's railtours and definitely dont join it's current support group...

in my opinion they are clearly becoming very extremist and from earlier posts suggests they engage in retribution too.. who knows whats next maybe someday they could even turn violent ?

So Mr 6201Member, what happens to Lizzie Members if they dont follow your rules ? is it a one way ticket to the firebox ?, will you just dissapear ? Maybe we will get sent to a gulag or sentenced to work for the group. (I am now concerned for my safety with this post).

Nice engine, bad people, thats my opinion... and in this country we are entitled to it.

 

I may be wrong, but the way I read 6201member's comment, was that he was merely letting us know what the 'management' were saying - NOT that he was agreeing with it! The last 2 sentences of 6201member's posting should tell you how he feels about the situation...

From my perspective a bit of openness would go a long way...

"Look xyz happenned, were not happy, there not happy, this is ourside, that is their side, however moving on ABC will now take place and EFG will be in the future" would be a much better, more positive approach.

It's just a shame that soon to be 50 years of preservation in my opinion appears to have degenerated into a shouting match whilst their customers, spectators & sponsors look on. From my perspective it looks like 6201 is having a "Chernobyl in Denial" moment... thats hardly a sound platform for the future.

Whilst 6201 is entitled to their secrecy, that fact the toothpaste has come out of the tube in front of your friends, really needs something to pacify the public rather than by pretending there is no mess on the floor and telling people to stay out of the bathroom.

 

Not quite, your PTS is only valid if you have a sponsor.

The 'sponsor' will have had to inform Sentinel to remove Joe Bloggs or whoever from their list, for whatever reason.

It will have been a phonecall or possibly an e-mail. But it will have been physically done by someone within the sponsors organisation. Be it PELS or whoever.

But on the other hand, the 3 people that did have their Sponsorship suspended now have new sponsors, so theirs nothing gained by the PELS and the 3 people involved will not be illegal on the national network, should they wish to continue on the mainline....
