The 3 EPB at the NIRT needs a new home.
Please see email from Roger Whiffin, Secretary of the NIRT.
Hello all - and please do pass this on to anyone or group that you think may have a serious interest in preserving this EMU.
NOTE: The National Railway Museum is not interested in this set.
Although interest has been shown : There are no confirmed buyers for the 3EPB at NIRT Northampton, so it may have go for scrap.
Information regarding its possible scrapping is in one of the national railway magazines (Heritage Railway Magazine).
Obviously this is not an outcome that anyone really desires, we would like it to go to a new home - but not at NIRT's expense.
Please note that the figure of £3000 is required by NIRT, this is considerably lower than the scrap price available to us.
However, NIRT Council of Management have decided that an optional "Delayed payment" plan can be made available.
NIRT will be willing to accept payment spread over 5 years (in £600 instalments).
The best transport costings we can find is for £1600 per vehicle for delivery to Kent, where I believe most of the interest is based.
Note: NIRT management want this EPB set off-site at the shortest possible time.
As I understand it that three separate groups plus an individual have shown interest in this set but for whatever reasons have not been able or willing to purchase it.
If there is anyone (or group) who is willing to join a consortium to save it please contact me.
If you like, I will be happy to act as initial coordinator and put you in touch with each other.
    Roger Whiffin

The old Caretakers coach. Must of given up on the plan for it to become a dedicated hospitality coach then.

    More listings have appeared on Carriage Exchange;
Wenslydale Railway are disposing of one of their Pacer units (142087 pictured on there.) Offers invited.

Peak Rail (or a member there) is selling Mk2 BSO 9394. Not run since the 80s but said to be mechanically good, bodywork looks a little rough - £8k asking price.

That looks as though that is the same seller as mentioned for the GWR PW wagon several posts ago. From it's condition, it looks an ex preservation site wagon as well.

According to the carriage trust records, it's ex-Cambrian Railways (though noted as still being there.) Looks like it's air-piped/braked too. But still, vastly ambitious with the price.

Seems to be a busy time for railway clearouts - Lincolnshire Wolds are looking to sell their Mk1 Buffet coach; taken from a post on Facebook in a carriage group.

*edit to add - the PM me does not refer to me!

The Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust are looking to dispose of two freight wagons that no longer fit within their long term aims. Both wagons are privately owned, and the Trust will act as the arbiter between the current owner and the potential purchaser. Both wagons are operational and sold as seen. All transportation/removal costs will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

SOLD SUBJECT TO PAYMENT: Ex-BR 27ton Iron Ore Tippler:

SOLD SUBJECT TO PAYMENT: Ex-BR 20ton ‘Dace’ Open Wagon:

Just seen on Carriage Exchange - 2x 107 DMUs for sale. One a 3 car, the other a 2 car.
Also for sale are a Mk1 BSK and 12 TON Box Van, however these are only available as part of the sale of the DMUs and not available on their own. If anyone is interested in a DMU but not the Box Van, let me know as we may be able to negotiate something.

Looks like Tanat Valley are having a clear out. If both DMU's and the BSK go won't that only leave the class 309 EMU - or has that already gone? According to the VCT database Stuart's Engineers' saloon chassis is still there but didn't he swap it for the asbestos ridden sleeping car since scrapped?
    Ray.
