Statfold Barn is not that far from me and it's been on my 'must visit' list for some years, but I was always somewhere else or it had sold out. Thanks for the heads up - ticket booked!

My ticket booed in January for the original March date; looking forward to a busy day and many images to sort out after the event.

They must have released more tickets, as I was able to book one today for Saturday and Sunday was also showing availability.

I went along on Saturday. It was my first visit and I have to say I was very impressed with the facilities. The museum was great, almost a mini-NRM for narrow gauge. The machine shop with the new build Quarry loco was well worth a visit on its own. The Isle of Man loco looks like its not far from completion (it looks like its had a 90% rebuild). Nice to see the owner wandering around and checking that everyone is having a good time. I shall definitely return. There are some cracking videos of the event on YouTube as well.

Just got back from a very enjoyable day. The triple header was rather nice. :)

    I was also there today.

Never been before, what a totally amazing place! Felt less like a heritage railway and more like a festival with locos instead of bands. Trains whizzing all over. The triple headed quarry hunslets and the garden line with it's "clearance in the negatives" as the driver put it were particular highlights. Also loved the pairing of the site's oldest and youngest quarry Hunslets in 'Cloister' of 1891 and 'Jack Lane' of 2005.

And for those who don't drive but don't mind a bit of a walk, you can hike from Tamworth Station to Statfold in 75 minutes. Head down to Amington Road and follow that till you can join the canal, come off by Tesco and head up Moor Lane where you can pick up public footpath to Statfold, no walking on verges of busy roads required.

Currently planning a repeat visit in September as despite being there from half 9 to half 4 I still felt like I hadn't seen the place.

Did you miss the quadruple header earlier in the day ?

EDIT : Apologies to Spamcan81 - I noticed his visit was on Sunday whereas mine was on Saturday. Took a full day to sort and catalogue the 300 images taken of the event but now find I managed to miss some of the scenes so another visit is called for !

Echo what has been said above, our first visit and a wonderful day, continuous trains, helpful staff. We went Saturday, the lineup at Strawberry Halt was great even if wrong sided with the sun.
