Correct, the photo I've seen of it with a Fowler tender was at Newton Heath.
    Cheers

It appears confused, unsure of what to identify as.

Tried to post a photograph but it said it was a security error. Any idea what that could be.

Reminds me of the old joke:

Three men on a station, watching a train approaching.

The first said, "Here she comes!", the second said, " Here he comes!" and the third said, "Here it comes!"

    Which one was right?

The second, because it was a 'mail' train!

    I'll get my coat.

Can we assume it'll be 35018 again on tomorrow's SSE?
RTT seems to suggest it stayed at York after Sunday's Waverley.

Reported on Railcam that today's SSE is diesel hauled throughout "due to problems with 35018". Double headed Class 47, 47815 (two tone green) and 47848.

Update, mud plug failed after the FTR and following being turned. Crew dropped the fire and used the remaining pressure to keep the boiler topped up thus preventing any further problems.
All passengers were contacted by email on Wednesday evening explaining what had happened.

Just a further follow up, bookings for this trip were one shy of 400, 5 failed to turn up, not an unusual number, so despite the lack of steam, it would seem that few if any backed out.

Sure there is a reason for it, but seems strange that BIL has been stationed over there for this for some of the summer when it is (I assume) a fairly easy turn that one of the less powerful loco's could cover, freeing her up for the heavier stuff?

45699 did the first half of the season, but needed to go back to Carnforth for some tlc, so it was either 46115 or 35018 over to Scarborough to replace it. From memory it was going to be 46115, but it was failed and 35018 went instead.

Cheers, as I said I was sure there was a reason. I assume its the sort of duty a Black 5 could cover if one were available (44932/44767) or even little legs (48151).
