Yes, it would appear to be so. I've contacted someone on the railway with a view to the correct heading being used.
    Thanks for pointing it out.

34105 visited Swanage in March 1993.
I was Driver of 30053 which acted as Swanage carriage pilot - but '53 achieved one double headed trip to Norden and back during one of the photographic charter's runs.

U among the flowers (10:30 from Swanage). Exerting less effort then it would have had to do if it was heading the DCE up a wet climb from Weymouth yesterday. IMG_6937mt.jpg

One loco works this set one day and then the next day it is the other loco. All down to what loco is the first off shed. This set until last week was Set B and hence went out on the 0955 ECS. They got swapped over (I assume it is still Set B to the railway) but this week has worked the 1030 from Swanage. I had written myself a list of which departures this set was on, but of course 100% wrong this week.

I was at Corfe Saturday, Monday and Wednesday so all alternative days. Yes that does make sense as the 1030 loco and stock make the 1700 ex SW and 1745 ECS
ex Norden, so yes the loco off the 1700 ex Norden would go to shed first, Though of course things do occasionally get changed and loco's get swapped over.

The June SLL website news explains what's happening. https://southern-locomotives.co.uk/News/news.html Work has progressed on Manston at Tyseley and 257 at Herston. We don't have a date yet for when the locos will swap locations beyond saying "fairly soon".

The Dorset coast express has been cancelled this week so no Mogul Fund revenue earned from 31608. The daytour might still run in September?

Good to see on FB a day visit from the London Underground museum "hidden London" videoblog team to Swanage and Corfe looking at the signalling and museum.

They were impressed by the period atmosphere Robin's picture has captured well.

There is also on srstock and rhrp websites an extra buffet carriage the 4TC group has brought from Dartmoor Railway.
    http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=530
"69332 is seen as a strategic opportunity to bring catering to the 4-TC in the medium-long term, much like Hastings Diesels have with their Hastings unit. It is believed that restoration will cost at least £65,000 so it may be some time before enough funds are available to send it away for restoration to full operational condition."
It's not clear where it currently is?. May not be till 2022 when the 3TC/4TC gets to run at Swanage as a push-pull unit?.

unfortunately, your link shows Maunsell coach 6697. and not 69332.
Around 1988 when the 4REPs were being disbanded, seven 4TC's received as a temporary solution ex REP buffet cars and were rebranded 5TCB.
    Non survived the scrap man.
69332 was built at York in 1970 as part of 4BIG unit 7051 for the Waterloo Portsmouth line, However it was transferred to and spent the rest of it's working life on the Central division, eventually being sold for potential use with 4TC either 410 or 417, This did not happen and it ended up on the Dartmoor railway.

For those who weren't around in the 1980s, here is something to show how far Swanage Railway has come.

Whilst Clan Line and Braunton were at work on the main line, Eddystone was one of the two locos in service at Swanage, the other being 78018 as featured in Robin's image.
Approaching Townsend Bridge, not sure where the train is bound for with that headcode, could be Waterloo to Southampton Terminus. The large collection of vehicles in the background is not a sudden influx of travellers but the camping for the Purbeck Folk Festival.
And because I think it is a lovely little loco another one of 78018 slowing for a stop at Herston Halt.

Did Class 2 2-6-0's - Ivatt or Riddles operate on The Southern Region, if so where?

Just curiosity, I am very happy to see 78018 running

    I think the Class 4 2-6-0s (76xxx) did but not the class 2s (78xxx).

Sort of. The concept is that there is a 'Heritage Coach' group which is undertaking a program of resortations of wooden bodied coaches taking them from derelict condition to be put in to traffic. Once part of the operating fleet they should become the responsibility of the LCW department to maintain them in operating condition on equal footing to the MK1 s. In practice tho, due to lack of capacity in LCW for coach maintenance and a lack of the appropriate skill set for wooden bodied coaches LCW would look after everything under the solebar on a 'Heritage Coach' and the Heritage Coach group tend to maintain everything above.

The obvious problem with this is as more wooden bodied coaches get put in to traffic the Heritage coach will end up spending an increasing amount of time maintaining them and decreasing amount of time restoring additional vehicles. Carriage Sheds are badly needed.

    :(
Swanage as a railway just has less space than most of its size. Most of the coaches waiting overhaul are stored of site. Most of the stuff in sidings is waggons needing overhaul and all the lesser used departmental stock. There is the odd 'problem vehicle' that due to ownership and political issues is just stuck in aspic.

'imminent' can have a variety of meanings when applied to loco restorations.....

76xxx 4MT certainly ran on the Southern. The MHR's 76017 was an Eastleigh engine, I believe. It certainly worked over the S&DJR, and was derailed on trap points at one of the stations on the DN&S.
