Thanks - I've been planning that shot for a week or two. Shame there was no exhaust, but she was coasting for the water stop. Shot was taken on 1/30th sec at F16, ISO 100

    Indeed - brilliant photo.

She came off the train at Pengam as planned, before running to turn on the triangle at Maindy. On her return however, she promptly disappeared off the mainline, past Pengam Sidings and away tender-first up the Tidal Branch!

Does anyone know how far she got? I'm presuming due to curvature she didn't make it all the way to Cardiff Docks.... 8-[ Either way, thats got to be some 'new track' for steam...and almost definately the first steam loco to make its way down there!

Awesome pannning shot! really impressive.... even the driver is looking pretty happy with things ;-)

On another note - can someone tell me why the nameboard is in black on the drivers side but red on the fireman side?

According to uksteam, the time allowed this evening from Patchway to Bristol Parkway is 9 minutes. This is extremely generous as the distance is only about a mile .....waits for someone to give the distance within an inch .....so the train may run slightly early to the watering stop. <BJ>

70013 arrived at Patchway on time this evening and was then slowed at successive signals awaiting a path through Bristol Parkway. After spotting double ambers at Parkway, the driver really opened her up. Fantastic.

    13 coaches. No problem. <BJ>

Just to advise the reason of the platform changes at Paddington yesterday - 2 locos and 13 coaches can only fit on platform 1 at Paddington! Needless to say we had to do some shuffling in the morning, and i guess in the evening too.

If anyone was joining at Paddington yesterday, that was my dolcit tones you had the misfortune of hearing.....

Saw her three times yesterday and she looked magnificent! Going well on all occasions and within a few minutes of booked time. The fact that it was a sell out makes me hope it will be repeated in the future. Shame that it could only really run on a Sunday.

Great pan shot. Shows what can be achieved with planning -and also taking a calculated risk. =D> =D>

Thanks to all of you for the compliments.

The risk was also lessened by knowing I could get to Baulking for a conventional shot as well in case the pan went completely wrong.

Thanks for all the photos etc. Good trip yesterday, all went well. Thanks to Steam Dreams and West Coast for a good day. We actually left Newport a little late because the preceding HST was late. Easily made up the time to Bristol then had to wait our path. Also had to wait for time at Wooten Bassett Junc. Slightly frustrating but I guess that’s the price that has to be paid for being allowed to run steam on a busy mainline. Also a curious hold outside Bristol Parkway in the morning. We were stopped at two signals before getting into the loop for water despite being a few minutes up we arrive about departure time for water. Still, the schedule to Newport was so easy that all was recovered for pretty much on time arrival at Newport.

Great pictures and videos folks. That panning shot is superb. =D>

We had a fantastic run yesterday. Very spirited performances from 70013 and her crews. Plenty of high speed running (mid 70's) for mile after mile and some great sounds from 70013. The departure from Reading on the return run was awesome. =D> (Check out this video to see what I mean:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODv08dVVp9M The platform was vibrating to the beat of a Brit......... Thanks to all involved.

That's 3 cracking runs we've had with Olly now. Looking forward to Folkestone on the 14th!
