Sounds like it could have been an issue with equipment in the cab at the west end if it worked back to Southall on its on power.

Hello everyone, anyone know if the train has left Plymouth yet? Hoping to catch it at Starcross if the light holds...

A short video, taken on the lower part of Hemerdon, camera handheld as I had to stand on a ladder.

Arrived at Taunton for loco change. 10 mph minimum on Hemerdon, 21 min on Dainton Eastbound. Run over whiteball had an energetic start but overall the time was in the middle of the table of times, min 45 at mp174. 22 min 2sec from Exeter.9

Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

Thanks for the info everyone Looked lovely at Cockwood though sadly the sun had gone a few minutes before it got there. I suspect someone might have got a good photo or two on Dainton, though last I looked Combe Fishacre is now badly overgrown

Great to see some 4-6-0s in the West Country again, albeit non gw ones! Years since I saw Leander too. Well done to all involved

Here's my footage of 45690 Leander becoming the second Jubilee to visit Devon with The Royal Duchy. I filmed her at Tigley and Hemerdon. I hope you enjoy the video.:)

Good job it was yesterday and not today or else Leander, train and passengers may have been marooned in Plymouth thanks to today’s serious bridge strike.

Indeed, missing out on the trip from Plymouth to Par doesn't seem so bad now!

Did feel for the couple opposite though, who'd arranged to meet their daughter who lives near Par. (Believe she ended up driving all the way to Plymouth instead!)

Still a bit of a mystery what happened to the "failed" diesel considering it seemed to find its own way home.

Can't say the Royal Duchy is a particularly attractive proposition this year with no steam between Plymouth and Par. If you live up near London like me it's a long day out for very little steam haulage. I was lucky enough to do the Duchy when you got steam haulage all the way from Bristol to Par and back.

Having seen a few pictures - Tesco lorry (brand new!) and it has given the structure an almighty whack and damaged both sides of the arch.

Latest update/tweet from Cross Country appears to indicate that "the rails have moved" and GWR have "arranged a comprehensive road transport plan for tomorrow"

Wonder how long it will impact normal service for and I assume all costs passed to the insurance company in this scenario?
