12 passenger coaches, two diesels, 35018 and support coach - 16 vehicles. Too long? You'd need the three locos and support coach off the platform at Woodlesford for a start, to allow passengers to alight. Plus it's on a curve, so would the driver be able to see the guard?

 

Don't WCR use radios for communication between driver and guard?

 

Although there is radio communication between the two, on curved platforms the guard always seem to move to the middle of the train where he can see it all e.g. Staines or Bournemouth. Not sure that a 16 coach train on a curve (unfamiliar with Woodlesford) could be radio dispatched. It would need someone with operating knowledge to answer that.

 

I think the original post from gwr4707 referred to the returning SSE itself, presumably complete with some passengers returning to points West of York.

From what I was told by members at York, she was being moved to another yard in York to be then transported by road

 

Tornado will be making it’s way to Grosmont from Crewe this week I think, so could be that?

edit: although 0Z suggests no support coach, so probably would be a diesel.

 

Perhaps this is for that purpose?

 

Would imagine that would be a 5Z headcode due to support coach being attached.
