    Great pictures everyone.

    Thank you for sharing them.

It has surprised me how short this thread is. I thought SNG on the mainline would have generated more interest.

Gresley ran faultlessly all day, well at least until I got off at Nuneaton. Late running was entirely due to endless permanent way checks and bridge restrictions. That includes the run Leicester to Nuneaton. I’m sure nothing more could have been done when you have to come down to 30mph or 10mph on several occasions.

Easily the highlight of the day was the climb from Chesterfield past Clay-Cross. Easily surpassed recent efforts I’ve recorded on that section from 4965 and 5029 and with and extra 100 tons of diesel to lug up the hill.

I never understand why the pathing people don't allow for these bridge restrictions. ](*,) Do you know if there are any on the route west of Nuneaton before the tunnel, as progress there was restrained considering they were behind time?

No I do not currently volunteer
Photographs take up bandwidth so it is best not to duplicate them.

Sorry no I don't but given the large number on the rest of the run I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't pretend to know the route inside out but the climbs up to Arley Tunnel while not very steep will make acceleration sluggish, and as you get further west you have the junctions at Whitacre, Water Orton & Park Lane in quick succession, all are speed restricted when certain routes are set.

Thank you for the kind words and compliment. I suppose that my ego says go on repost them as many times as you like however I suppose for those on lower speed connections it would be only fair to not repost images in quotations.
