Looks like they've mostly been moved to a more appropriate existing thread for the subject.

Thank you to Frank C for the article on Seaward Crossing. It was good to read so much detail about the work involved.

it is my understanding that CRF3 is for those businesses at risk of imminent failure or at risk of failure by march 31st 2022

Just a reminder to all that this coming weekend (Fri-Sun) the WSR will be hosting its Autumn Gala. Myself and a number of others have put great voluntary efforts into planning this relatively small scale event and so it would be great to see as many folk along as possible.

    Highlights include:
    - Intensive timetable from Norton Fitzwarren to Dunster (Bus connection Dunster to Minehead)
    - 4 homefleet steam in operation (5199, 7822, 7828, 9351) plus two different diesels in action (D6575 - Morning only, and D7018)
    - Local Trains in operation between Norton Fitzwarren and Williton
    - QB Breakfast service on 0935BL (Prebook only)

Rover tickets are available to book online for the reasonable price of £30, also available for £33 on the day. Discounts available for multiple days.

    Timetable - https://www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk/userfiles/userfiles/file/ASG_BUS_V7(1).pdf

    Tickets - https://www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk/events/detail/autumn-steam-gala-2021

    See you all there!

As its attached all day, will there be meals to purchase from the QB on later trains?
Do we need to print the tickets out or is it acceptable to show on phone tot the TTIs?

From which NR panel or box, please, is Taunton and the junction/boundary from NR signalled?

    TIA

I think from what I saw on the friends Facebook page the general consensus was likely not, but, no one seemed 100% sure, happy to be corrected though.

I could have posted this on the MHR thread, but both railways have a gala this weekend I believe. I know the cost of visting locos affects ticket prices. However one railway is £30 per day and the other £45 per day if I've read things correctly. Seems to me someone's got their prices wrong.

There is no mention of any other meals being served from the QB set on the Gala website page. The evening Fish & Chips on 2nd Oct will be served in one of the other sets.

You do not need to print out tickets. Show your booking on your phone to the TTI to scan or give them the booking reference number and they will issue your ticket.

Correct, breakfast only. I don't know if the lunch option in previous years was very popular but maybe something for a future gala provided the QB volunteers are agreeable.

The set is attached all day though and in use as general seating. A 6 coach maroon rake will be on offer for the first time in many years (depending of course on how well I get on shunting tomorrow!).

The expectation is Set A to be 5 x Blood and Custard plus 2 x choc cream at TN end. Set B to be 5 x choc cream with maroon buffet in middle. Set CQB 6 Maroon. Set D 2 choc creams.

I am not sure it is a fair comparison as they are very different galas with very different offerings.

Yeah, one line is running a de-faced Thomas and the other is running 20 miles!

My wife and I visited the WSR on Sunday and whatever is going on behind the scenes did not seem to be affecting the actual operations. The trains and platforms were clean and tidy. The engines were shiny, the staff were friendly and helpful. The RR Buses were both vintage (and RT type and an open top AEG (?)) and so interesting and brought back a few (very old) memories. The morning train behind a Manor ran to time and the afternoon behind the Prairie was only a few minutes late. We had a great day out and the countryside looked very pretty too. Lets hope everyone can put the current problems behind them soon and start working to overcome the current apparent financial issues.

And one has two visiting locos, two freight rakes on the Friday, a ten coach train on the Saturday. I hardly feel the Hunslet giving BV rides at Alton is impacting on the main event.
Petrol situation means I will be at neither, but very sorry not to be in Hampshire. Hope the WSR cover their costs none the less.

Why not wait and compare visitor numbers and feed back after the event, Dave( Thomas) is only there for shunt release, and Brake Van rides, theres two visiting engines, and the opening of the new museum which includes some stuff from Washford, thats not been seen before, on the Pines, theres the 7f, and double headers, all very much celebrating the S&D

By trolling you really aren't helping. Comparison only invites people to highlight the shortcomings of the WSR at the moment. So I wouldn't go there.
