Driver Duddington to get a headstone.

I wonder where Fireman Bray was laid to rest?

Bill Hoole (of A4 fame) is buried at Minfford by his beloved Ffestiniog Railway and I believe his grave is well looked after. It is good that the "heroes" of the railway world are given their due (posthumous) recognition.

That is indeed fitting recognition for both of them.

Who cares? It's the thought and belated recognition that count.

Tommy Bray was cremated, his ashes were interred at Rose Hill Crematorium, Doncaster. He has also been recently remembered with a memorial

Well its a locomotive for a steam train... or even a steam powered train locomotive...

Maybe it is, but it's still in my opinion a very clumsy piece of English to be on a memorial which will exist for many decades. I would have said simply "Fireman on the Steam Locomotive Mallard". The word Train is completely unnecessary and the locomotive is named 'Mallard' not 'The Mallard', both foibles of modern journalism by folk who sadly know little about railways.

It seems to me that modern journalists know damn all about just about everything - and all while thinking they know more than everyone else.

Sorry about the off-topic, but you hit one of my hot buttons.
