5407 morning, 4871 afternoon ( at least, when I left the depot).

Enjoy The Grog ( or whatever is currently open), Ian!

Thanks. The Grog was ok last night. The forecast looks like Sunday could be the day for riding.

Broadside ! certainly a fine ale from Adnams Mr Bowskill, but I've never seen it in the Grog. A poor substitute for Jonny's glint shot.

Didn't think I'd be saying this but I wish in future years to see more Jacobites run smoke box first from Mallaig.

I'll be heading home sometime today, so here's a few more from the week that can be best described as '60 seconds out' at most locations! Can a little bit more sunshine creep out in the next 24 hours?

Once again, my never ending thanks to the crews for playing ball and was nice to catch up with many regular faces among plenty of new ones.

For those who are still up there 45212 has now been turned to face Mallaig

If 44871 stays facing east, that's the best of both worlds.

Just back from an enjoyable week in Fort William. The usual mixed bag of weather with snow about the only thing we didn't get, although it did get close with a hail storm on Friday. Nice to have met up with old friends and to put names to faces of new ones. Thanks to @Johnb for sharing cars/driving duties during the week. Plenty of shots to edit but here's a few of the non sunny ones to start with.

Another cracking week up in the Highlands. 'The Jacobite' hauled by LMS 5MT No.45212 and LMS 5MT No.44871, seen at various locations between Mallaig and Fort William, between the 27th September and 1st October 2021.

How did you get to that shot at Arnabol Viaduct? The stream you have to cross to get to the high view must have been a raging torrent last week

It's accessible from the lay-by above Loch Dubh. Just follow the path down to the west end of the Loch and after crossing the bridge over the railway go to your right and up on to a mound in front of you.

Thanks Scot, I've done the lower shot there and thought it was a climb from there but it does involve crossing a water course
