Ok that’s great. Thanks. Just need the bus timetables now so I can plan our day by train and bus and buy our tickets. Looks like a really good event.

Certainly looks decent. Fortunately Cardiff to Cheltenham isn't that long at all.

Bus times shall be available shortly now we have confirmed train times to tie in with.

Glad the timetable has received positive comment. It sounds, from some of the posts above, like ticket sales are being generated which pleases me greatly!

Footplate rides and brake van ride details to come in due course.

    Regards,

    Mike

Waiting for the Tuesday cheaper day prices (if it still happens) for booking the hotel, book that and tickets, interesting looking program.

The bus link detail has now gone. Will it not now operate?

It will be operating, exact pick up location to be advised hence any info related to it has temporarily been removed to avoid confusion. I shall post here as soon as we have confirmation of pick up location and timings.

    Regards,

    Mike

That’s great thanks. I could get the Stagecoach bus 99 but the dedicated bus will be easier

Hotel booked, rover tickets booked, timetable downloaded, no-rain dance underway!
I wonder if anyone though about doing a firework + bonfire at Toddington on Saturday, good extra fund raiser?

I looked on-line a few days ago for bonfires in the vicinity of the GWSR and found none. :(

We are stopping in Tewkesbury again for the event, the Wife has found a light and sound show at the Abbey for Friday night (ticketed), and a firework + bonfire for Saturday on the field behind the Abbey for free. Sorted, beats "Strictly" on the box in the hotel room!!

Ah on the Vineyards, that’s always quite a good display there.

    GWSR website now stating:
"Some revisions: Unfortunately, local routing issues mean that we are unable to run the complimentary bus service this year, between Cheltenham Spa Network Rail and Cheltenham Racecourse stations"

Bit disappointing, I was hoping to take advantage of this.

An update to the update....! We are arranging something with another company and still hope to be offering a direct bus link. Timetable etc is being worked on at this very moment. Full details by the end of the week hopefully!

Apologies, many things keep happening that are beyond our control that we are working hard to resolve. Gala organising is an interesting challenge!

Thanks for the update, fingers crossed you're able to work something out. Your hard work is much appreciated.

Moving the gala date from the 23rd/24th appears to have been a good call. I went through Cheltenham on the way down to the DFR gala and the trains were somewhat 'lively!'
