There's a slightly revised TT on the website (see front page) but the majority of it is the same.

Can anyone say yet what the filming job is at the MHR? Picture posted earlier on Instagram by Mr Bentley of a class 20 sitting at Ropley at 2.35am for the filming work.

No they cannot, though rumours have circulated on line in other places. It would be unfair on the viewers of this production to let on until it is aired.

That is fair enough. I haven't heard any of the rumours, I was just curious. Great to see the MHR getting some more of this work. Ropley has been getting quite a bit of TV location work in recent years with both Endeavour and Midsomer Murders using the station.

Perhaps its another Midsomer Murders episode, where a cook in the West county buffet, starts poisoning everyone, starting with the porter, ;) and hides their bodies in an ventilated meat van,

After last weeks quantum leap, the gang gathered atop the hill yesterday in very pleasant condidtions. :)

Upon seeing the GPV, even we are still coming to terms with how good it looks!  :D:D :D :D so thank you Alex ( @flying scotsman123 ) for you kind comments :D, and @Footbridge I await your cunning plan as to how you put delicate decals over rivet heads without it loking like a dogs dinner...... trust me, we dicussed things at length before coming to the descision to place them either side of the angle iron, at the end of the day, its our van & we're more than happy with the result!!!! :):):):):):):):):)

So after customary brew & catch up, it was time to progress the the GPV that bit more.......

First thing to do was to habd shunt it to the dolly, so that the sun could get on it, then run extention cables to enable fan heaters to warm up the inside, after that and armed with bigger & better collars for the vac hoses, these took 5 mins to go on and stay in place & were even hanging off the swan necks at the end of the day! :)

Next job was to start touching up on the outside, especiallly on the solebar & warning plates.

Whilst this was being attended to some of the gang went off to the basket case of a BR 20T Brake, known as the 'Wembley van', because that is where we got it from, to attend to the brakes........ the weigh shaft had been removed a few weeks ago, but needed to go back in, but in the time since the frames seem to have spread by about an inch, as the damn thing had no chance of going back in...... but being the 'Saturday gang' and not to be beaten, a plan was hatched and the weigh shaft finally went home, to allow the brake rigging to be put back together & working and the vac hoses refitted, this took them most of the day! :Arghh:

Over on the GPV, the warning plates were tidied up & lettering picked out, along with the makers plate, grab handle and card holder. After that, it was time to hand shunt it into the dock platform........ this went better than last week & no assistance from the PWay was needed to get it over the frogs! :)

Once in the dock, some scaffolding was set up to allow them charged with giving it a coat of varnish a chance! So the afernoon was duly spent doing just that. The solebar was left untouched, as there's still a bit of touching up to do, so hopefully that will happen next week, along with bringing the innternal walls up to 2nd gloss........

All this was achieved in between waving at the happy families passing on the service trains - it was nice to see the two Stds out and about again. :)

    Said trains......

The 80150 group ought to be collecting the comments about 80151 for use as fundraising slogans :)

As long as you don't keep 925, and send that American Monstrosity back in her place, the broken toy cupboard's already full, Saying that though, 701 Was fun, when it worked, The memory of that Nathan 5 chime whistle echoing across the shrave still makes me smile, :)
