I wouldn't take it personally. We have to put up with COTF's well meant enthusiasm (i think thats what it is) that is basically just wibble. It doesn't add anything to the conversation as such and takes up eyeball space. There are probably better places for posting gala line ups (or just straight up galas it seems) you'd like to see.

    Oh! Sorry!
In that case, 6201, 6233, 46100 or maybe something like 35006 as 35003?

Although their must have been a Windsor Castle and as for 2999, well, Queen Elizabeth II is definitely a Lady Of Legend! :D

71000? The current Duke is the Queen's cousin. There's also 46203, but it's currently out of ticket.

True - But IF your talking about next year and IF the Watercress Line choose to throw an event to celebrate the Queen's 70th anniversary, then unfortunately 46203 or 71000 won't be available.

Fridays YouTube video has been released. This weeks video is a tour around on of the class 20s by Richard.

Any chance Richard and the MHR film crew could replicate this video on class 08s.:)

Missing the loco roster page on the site still! Might be free to head to the line tomorrow afternoon if work goes well so was wondering what might be running? Hoping for a diesel/steam mix... Thanks in advance for any info.

Great, thank you very much. Work's now looking like it'll fill all of tomorrow but if not I'll aim for the Standard tank!

Just three hardy souls met atop the hill yesterday, and thanks to your scribe having to work in the morning :( :Arghh: we didn't do so until almost lunchtime!

Still, a few more jobs were ticked off the still to do list (which is now pretty small! :))

On opening up the van, it was nice to see that given the recent weather, it was bone dry inside! :D

They being, chamfer the kickboard on door frame #1, which was sticking - the doors now close smoothly. ;)

Clean up & grease all four sets of leaf springs - a bugger of a job, but it's been jobbed!

And the main one being to bring the internal walls & door frames into a uniform colour, unfortunately the tin of battleship grey we had mixed up, was nowhere near, so it was a case of mixing paints until we reached a chade all three of us agreed on........ o_O its more gunmetal than battleship grey, but at least the insde is now a uniform colour! :) ;)

Not bad going for an afternoons work.

The sooner it gets to Ropley for its FTR & into the freight rake the better.

It was nice to see the Ivatt back from its Holibob to the ELR, and on the service trains alongside 80151.

The transformaton of the inside in progress.

The springs cleaned up & greased.

Close of play - literally, and the inside has been reapainted.

No wonder the paint doesn't match - that's not paint, it's yoghurt! ;)

Well spotted, everone one knows you can't use low fat yogurt for painting wagons. Needs to be full fat stuff!

The best thing for the gala would be for some royal coaches to go along to there as railways always do the engines but forget that fifrent carriages would pull people in for a change

That isn't actually a bad idea.
Since this jubilee is once in a lifetime, I can't see why not.

Though wouldn't you need to pay a supplement to ride inside it?

Then again, you didn't pay one when W238 'Chaffinch' visited with 1450 in 2014.

It all depends IF the Watercress Line or any other railway want to do it, it would be a shame if they didn't, but it is their decision at the end of the day.

Down at Alton yesterday, it was almost all hands armed with a brush as we set to applying a top coat to the Meat Van. Looking much better than it did when it arrived two years ago. The North side doors have been painted but yet to be fitted. Hopefully not too long until it is 'complete' - will certainly stand out amid the other freight vehicles I think.
