    Thanks for your post, regarding the County project. I knew nothing of the scheme.

    I had many a ride behind a County in the 1950s, alas it was in the train. #-o

    Just out of interest, where did the spare Collett tender come from that they are stripping for parts.

    The only spare I can think of at Didcot would be the one that Maindy Hall perhaps came out of Barry with, assuming that Maindy is being given a 3500 tender in Saint guise - but even so would they not use the frames??

    The tender is the one that originally came with Nunney when it arrived from Barry. A spare 3500 already exists for the Saint; best option really, as the frames on a 4000 are different.

    The Tender currently behind Nunney came from OOC where it was used as a waste oil store..

    We collected it in the early 80s, leaving a rather large oil slick behind :-$
