As @Meatman said,it was a very informative day.
In addition Stuart Nelhams gave us a most interesting talk about his recent visit to the HRA conference, mentioning in particular Ecoal and the wildlife which can benefit from the green corridor provided by the railway line

Interesting that there's still no news of the AGM trustees vote on the L&B member's website pages. No sign yet of improved communication ...!

Strewth, give 'em time ..... Devon & Cornwall's SOCO have probably only just finished collecting the forensics from the site.

Thanks for providing the figures - interesting result.
It is a pity that the Forum could not be transmitted live using zoom or Microsoft Teams [or youtube] - I am sure that more remote members would appreciate being able to hear the presentations.

Even if not actually live, then at least a recording made available later. This is becoming more common with other groups to which I belong and helps to reduce the feeling that those who can not, or do not wish to, travel are being 'excluded' to some extent.

Though it does require a skill-set that many heritage organisations lack

.... though, to judge by the many excellent clips which appear on our pages (and the several live streams which crop up here and there) not one entirely absent within the wider movement. Some lateral thinking in this regard mighn't go amiss.

I would agree. From my experience elsewhere there is usually at least one member with the necessary skills (and hopefully also equipment) able and willing to attend a meeting of his/her organisation in order to do this for the benefit of others..

If I recall it wasn't so much the concept from Andrew that was at fault, but it was the way it was proposed and how it came across to the membership at the time, I may have it wrong, but I got the feeling that Andrews concept did not have any room for a voluntary membership base or would it have allowed it to have any input, but it relied on have wealthy backers who as I recall wanted a railway to play with, I did ask at the time for a costing of the project, but I never got a reply.

An appeal has been launched to fund a new chimney for Bagnall 'Charles Wytock' (now 'Sir George Newnes')
    Link is here
Someone needs to have a serious rethink about the funding strategy though - £5.5k for a chimney? What's it made of...?
