If you do I have a favour to ask. I need photos of carriage 808's corridor connection fall plates that show how they are assembled, preferably with them in the up and down position.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help, it will help me avoid making any expensive mistakes :)

Well, presumably somebody must work there; otherwise, how do they keep on turning out new/refurbished locomotives and rolling stock?

Unless they're now completely automated, of course...! :p

Does it need to be 808 or will any of the new saloons work? After all, they are of a standard design. At a quick glance, those photographs look about right - minus the securing pin for holding them in the up position.

Not back in for a couple of days, but can look then if necessary

I think there might have been a slight design change this year, so 808 would be most helpful. The plates I've got are cut from the 2021 drawings and it looks like there's going to be an awkward gap between the bolt holes on the bracket and the bolt holes on the plate.

Thank you so much if you can get me photos, it'll be a life saver and stop me having to stare at them wondering why they don't go together right

The plate in the photos has the bolt hole pieces welded on to far up btw, that's when I realised it was wrong

Ok, no problem. Will pop in the carriage works at some time tomorrow when I've caught up with the annual leave stuff.

Thank you! The bolts for securing the plates in the upright position have arrived today too, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they mount as they're not on the drawings.

    Load of photographs for you. Hopefully you'll be able to get something from these 20211123_090017.jpg 20211123_090021.jpg 20211123_090028.jpg 20211123_090031.jpg 20211123_090037.jpg 20211123_090111.jpg 20211123_090117.jpg 20211123_090127.jpg 20211123_090144.jpg 20211123_090355.jpg

Interesting photographs. I may be wrong but I think the lock nut (the thin one) is normally fitted to the outer end of the thread, the full size nut goes in the inside as it is necessarily stronger having a greater length of thread.

Both nuts are the same size though. The inner one is welded to the bracket, and the outer one stops the bolt turning when you raise and lower the fall plate.
