Anybody know whether this move is:

    a. To finish the loco overhaul?
    b. Attendance at the WSR gala?
    c. A long term thing?

    Nothing on WSR website yet

6960 tender already at Toddington according to GWSR website, I presume the loco is still being worked on in Flour Mill

Wasnt there something in Steam Railway recently to say it was going back to the GWSR (oldest and youngest Mod Halls etc?)

It is going to Wiliton to finish it off and to do the running in.
This is according to a conversation I had with a member of WSR Restorations last week.

When you read the statement from Mr Hosking's representative you are tempted to wonder if the intention is to base the engine on the WSR in the future rather than on the GWSR.

If the loco is having a spell at the WSR, it clearly has been hurriedly arranged, given the tender has had a wasted trip to Toddington already.

“However, we do recognise that the locomotive’s spiritual home is at the GWR,"

To me Ratbags spiritual home still is, and always will be, the SVR.

I Second that it would be good to see her back on the Valley, hopefully with Hagley and the three Manors as well, that would certainly bring back some memorys for me, oh well you can only dream!

It would be unfortnate for the GWSR if she were to leave, because I was under the impression that as soon as the Swindon and Cricklade had finished extending, 7903 would return back there.

You must be considering quite a long extension to be able to justify regular use of a 79xx loco!

Ah yes, the "Swindon & Cricklade Railway", which doesn't go from either one place to the other - "The Blunsdon to somewhere in the middle of a field Railway" would be a better name. I'm sorry, that's a very cheap shot but I am surprised at just how far the S&C hasn't come in all these years. Sorry I'm contributing to a thread creep.
