Railway Videos on Youtube

On Wednesday I had a great festive day filming Santa trains on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway and the Evesham Vale Light Railway.

There was plenty of action on the GWSR with 35006 'Peninsular and Oriental S &N Co' and the GWR heavy freight tank 4270 in operation. Plus, with the loop at Winchcombe out of use due to engineering work, class 47s 47376 and 47105 were also running to haul the trains back to Toddington. To top it all of, the line's class 117 DMU was operating the 'ride with Santa' service from Toddington.

For me the star of the show was 35006 - what a machine! 47105 was also looking great in its glossy paintwork after a recent overhaul.



Later in the afternoon I headed over to the 15 inch gauge Evesham Vale Light Railway. This is a small but perfectly formed railway and well worth a visit if you're in the area! 'St Egwin' was running and I got a good few shots of it along the line, including a couple in the sun!

My take on the Best of British Steam over 2021, mostly based in the South of England. Happy New Year all!

 

A great end of year visit to the Severn Valley Railway yesterday!
Was good to see 1501, 34027 'Taw Valley', 40106 'Atlantic Conveyor' running. Plus seeing the Clayton class 17 out and about was a bonus - listening to it heading up Highley bank was wonderful

 

BR (W) 15xx 0-6-0PT No. 1501 arrives at Kidderminster Station on the Severn Valley Railway on Thursday 30th of December 2021.

 

In the event anyone hasn't heard of Jago and doesn't know about it, a new video about terriers. Drollery, punnage and well-put-together video ensues

 

Very apt, since we have a few coming back this year and one last year that went a few places.

 

New Year's Day on the North Norfolk Railway

 

Saw noted in the text the class celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. What chance a Gala event comprising all working locomotives OR - perhaps - the repatriation of Waddon from Canada ?

 

Bluebell are holding a Terrier event in July next year.

 

Found all my royal Windsor footage from 2021, compiled it and put it up. I wasn’t planning on uploading it at all after I set myself the challenge of getting it at every station and didn’t, but here it is

 

From 1989 to 2000, London Transport ran a series of special trains from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Amersham on the Metropolitan Line using a variety of different steam locomotives. These usually ran double headed or topped and tailed with a diesel or electric locomotive as these were needed to provide air braking power.

I videoed some of the trains that ran in May, 1994, and the resultant footage is now on YouTube. I've broken it down into two bite-sized videos to make viewing easier:

Great day at the GCR Winter Gala as well. Could only make the Sunday though. Only problem I had all days was the sun getting in my eyes it was that bright.
