Besides seeing the tour from Oxford 13 march tour 60103 17 March london vic to canterbury also london vic to Salisbury 24 march 60103 and 5 april london vic to bath 60103.

There is also a tour running from london Kings X the Capitals express to Edinburgh offering Pullman dining for £899 per head premier dining £599 and standard 13 and a half hours £369 on the 1st day offering accommodation in Edinburgh as part of the tour a day tour of Fife on the 2nd day 3rd day back in Edinburgh and the 4th return up to London 13 and half hours, does this sound like value for money seen as though it says 60103 F.S. wont be available, which leaves only 6233, 35018 or 35028 45596 or 61306 which I highly doubt the latter 2 without diesel assistance I'm betting 6233 subject to avalibility for both 400 mile legs and if it fails the dreaded class 67 or 47 diesel my mate wants me to go on it with him for £899 I just hope steam dreams can pull it off if so.

Are you sure accommodation is included, 2 nights in Edinburgh is going to cost around £200 so standard class would be about €170 for 3 days steam haulage?

I think you will find 61306 is out of action with firebox problems, it sounds serious

Blimey, they really don't have much luck with 61306. She has certainly had her fair share of boiler problems since returning to the ML. I recently read the interview with David Buck in Steam Railway about all of the work that has been carried out on the B1 since he acquired her. Seems to be one of the more expensive locos to own these days.

I think it’s the old adage, if you are rich buying a steam locomotive will soon change that

I think you are confusing your B1s - it's 1264 (on the NYMR) that has been withdrawn with firebox problems.

As far as we, the owner and, most importantly, his engineer are concerned, there are no issues with 1306's boiler.

Apologies James It was communicated to me in an email with a picture of 61306 but the heading does state 1264, I should have read that first!

Received an email this morning regarding the May 17th morning tour which now is linked to an event at Brooklands Museum. The email implies the circular tour is still happening although no mention is made on the website.
Tour picks up at Victoria and West Brompton and has a slow "run past" at Brooklands for photographs of the train being overtaken by a Sunbeam racing car. Then get off at Woking for coaches to and from Brooklands.
Apart from being operationally difficult if the train is running late and an SWR unit is right behind, how do you pick up at West Brompton and go past Brooklands, I cannot work that out.

West Brompton to Battersea, Brixton, Herne Hill, Streatham, Tooting and Wimbledon, onto the slow line to Weybridge etc.

It should be possible. West Brompton to Battersea, Herne Hill and pick up the SWML at Wimbledon.

But if it starts at Victoria, won't it be facing the wrong way at West Brompton? Is there another way via Acton and Kew Bridge? Or are you thinking reverse at Olympia?

I guess the tour now starts at West Brompton. I looked to check it was the same day as the circular tour and that still says it starts from Victoria. I guess they have not updated the website. I had planned on that basis the loco would be heading north at West Brompton.
Interesting the circular tour costs less than going to Woking and Brooklands.

London to Brooklands Museum is under 'Cathedral Cites'. Hampshire Hills Tour is under 'Circular Tours/Cream Teas'

No need to guess. There is only one pick up on the booking - West Brompton.

The departure times are also exactly the same. I think when they added the Brooklands trip, they forgot to update the Hampshire trip as now starting at West Brompton instead of Victoria

Also for anyone interested: This trip is actually happening on a Tuesday a week after the Windsor shuttles have started. The Windsors are obviously not taking place that day, but they are still running one of the Sunset Trips straight after the Hampshire Circular.

(UPDATE: They've just updated the Hampshire Circular to start at West Brompton)

I see some more trips added.
The Weymouth trip has this regarding locos, early days yet of course but I feel some of those are unlikely. The CME trip mentions the 8F as part of the pool is that near completion?

The steam locomotive for this trip is still to be confirmed.

Rostered locomotives will be updated on the Steam Dreams website as they are confirmed throughout the year.

Motive power is likely to be from a pool of steam locomotives including; 61306 Mayflower, 46201 Princess Elizabeth, 45596 Bahamas, 45699 Galatea, 45690 Leander, 46233 Duchess of Sutherland and various Black Fives.

Take things with a pinch of salt maybe, how many times did RTC advertise 6023 and 46100 as motive power a years ago when they were still in bits?
