I might have actually screamed in horror. I hope they do a better job than the mock-up, it looks like a Quality Street.

( actual opinion: I suppose if you must, then go ahead. I can't blame a railway for wanting to bring crowds in, and people apparently want to celebrate the queen, but...ugh)

The purple ones are my 2nd favourite. Just for the record, if you fancy following your analogy to any sort of conclusion, my favourites are still the toffee pennies. Somehow, I can't see a RBP in full-on Stroudly garb looking any too good! ;)

I dislike the toffee pennies, not for the taste as much as the sheer bloody effort involved. As a livery...well, if you want your steam locomotive to look like Saddam Hussein's bathroom, that's your prerogative I suppose.

Effort? How impatient are you? Just let them rest until the Oh! so yummy toffee melts. If that's too much trouble, please do feel free to send 'em thisaway .... unopened, natch. And just for the record, there are no gold taps, claw marks or bullet holes in my bathroom! :)

I think it’ll fit in rather well at a certain station on the cross city line not to far away, and all because the lady loves… ;)

Have you just stumbled on a potential sponsor for the repaint?

I think it's great. Why not? There are plenty of green bulleids, it's temporary and it's one loco from a fleet of many.

all a bit of fun, temporary, the owner can do what they want, already getting lots of positive national notice away from the outraged - and my sense is probably more of the former than the latter. It's for one summer, crack on.

And, in the meantime (and this is not an argument for doing it permanently which I wouldn't support), if someone really must see a green West Country in 2022 then others are available.

That colour looks close to the experimental Ultramarine blue trailed by BR, And it certainly was an attractive livery .
But looking at the time line, " Expected to be completed by early April" How do we know this isn't some kind of an elaborate April fools day hoax ?

Not sure it can be an April Fool if you actually do it.

City of Truro was 'done' for Steam Railway. It fooled lot of people, as well. People resigned their membership and there were many letters of complaint to the magazines, the railway and the NRM. Even a quote from the SVR spokesman Lirpa Loof was missed by many.

It was indeed. I might have said Lirpa Loof instead of Nula Seer. It was a long time ago.

I'm so glad they've taken on most of the previously 'no hopers,' especially 35025 which I supported as a child early on in its restoration.
