Guessing 34027 isn't going to attend the event because of its fabulous purple makeover!!

34027 probably isn't running cause they know loads of people will moan about it being purple. They could also be saving it to launch in June.

 

Personally, I love quirky liveries, especially on locos I am not fond of, but I cannot argue with that reason.
Although, wouldn't "they" see it at the ASG anyway?

 

I thought it was 1st April come early, saw the photo in the magazine! Brought back memories of the City of Truro wheeze in BR black mixed traffic livery. Look nice if D9016 went back into purple and double headed with it ! Another railway going down the toy town line? As has been said before, as they do the work and contribute the most, their right to do with them as they choose.

Brilliant pair of visiting engines. 2999 visiting again gives those who missed out last years gala and running days another chance.

Not too adventurous have the Saint again...... unless it is there for a longer period this time?

 

Although this will be the first "proper" gala it's seen at - last year's offering just didn't appeal to me (not a complaint, it just wasn't for me). This year on the other hand... And I'm sure I can't be alone in that.

 

60007 just announced as staying for the gala after its running in turns, joining 2678 and 2999.

4930 Hagley hall I thought was still having the finishing touches done to fitting its boiler lagging is it going to be outshoppped in time, Or will we have to wait for the S.V.R. Autumn steam gala?

will coal supplies not be a issue for the event or do the S.V.R. already have a load stockpiled although the S.V.R. usually get their coal from russia like wise with what's just happened with the E.L.R. (who are having to reduce their steam operating days) and N.Y.M.R. who are having coal supply problems from Russia cos of the sanctions on their banks by our goverment.

 

I don't think 4930 will be ready any time before the gala, the latest SVR YouTube video on it the lady presenting says something along the lines of 'fingers crossed she steams again in 2022'.

 

Recently Kazakhstan I'm led to believe.

 

Wonder if they will pair 2999 with their Western set and 4498 with their LNER Teaks?
Mind you, what could 2678 possibly haul?

Still a good visitor nevertheless!
Hopefully I can catch that, 2999, 4498 and 813/71516 double header in the short amount of time I have there.
Still looks an absolute banger! Just what I need after being in Covid isolation and stuck in London for a sporting event.
