Nice one Nige, thank you for getting out there so early to get that great shot, not forgetting Steve as I guess he was around as well. :)
Don't get bankers on Shap very often these days.

Thanks Ralph, I arrived at Scout Green at 5:30 and there were two cars there already to my surprise anyway luckily with running late at least we had daylight as I didn't think I would have got a shot at the original time as it was still dark after changing the clocks last weekend, Steve's was on the edge of Kendal as he had work so he will post later.

Yes the support crew must be furious having to put up with that 37 growling away at the front all day.

I think that it was fairly obvious that 5407 was at least in notch 2 if not more.

Well, from the suburbs of North Glasgow until Craigendoran the Class 37 has been rather quiet! Shut down, declared a failure in Craigendoran Loop and now 1Z99 formed of two WCRC 37's are enroute from Bo'ness to rescue. Could be a few interesting shunt moves when they arrive.

High fire risk in the West Highlands (I kid you not). It has actually been very dry, as it often is at this time of year, before the new grass gets going.

No doubt there will be some snow-ploughing/line proving, this weekend, as well.

Just to reaffirm what James has said, the dead bracken on the West Highland hills are crumbling to dust as you walk through it. Perfect kindling material if fire starting is your aim, a very sensible call by WCRC to avoid such an outcome.
