Hi Guys, I need a bit of help here. Can anyone put me in contact with anyone or group that may have drawings of the old station buildings at Lakeside.

As I understand it the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway was seeking permission to rebuild the old station building. But I think it got turned down.

It is a building I fancy building a model of, but I don't have a clue as to who I could try to contact, thansk in advance for any help given.

    Regards

    Colin Rainsbury

I seem to remember that there were drawings in Railway Modeller many years ago. There was a feature about the station.
There was a very useful book with an index to all model railway drawings, I think that the author's name was Leleaux or similar. I have both the book and the magazine but unfortunately they are in boxes back in the UK so no chance to search for them. Maybe someone else has a copy of the book.

May 1965 Railway Modeller has a two page article, on the station, with a few drawings.

The May 1969 'Railway of the Month' featured a layout based on Lakeside.

    Thanks Nick.
I will look out for both of those, I do have a feeling I might have the railway of the month layout somewhere.

Hi John I have check the two mags out and I have both. The MRC one is just part 1 of a number of articles about Lakeside from what I can see, in part two so the article states in the Feb Issue there will be drawings of the station in the March 1981 issue, so I am not sure if there will be other drawings in later magazines.

Just got to find a March 1981 copy as there are a couple of other articles I could do with as well in that case.

    Regards

    Colin
