Can’t find a general chat thread for the loco...

West Shed have confirmed no more tours for 2020, and that talks are going ahead regarding the use of 6233 with LSL in 2021

The SVR newsletter says that it is a problem with the white metal in the driving wheel axle boxes cracking. So boxes out for re white metalling then machining to size. All being done at Ripley.

From what I heard 6233 should have been back in service for the beginning of October it's now been shelved toward the back end of October early November maybe I'm only guessing dont take my word for it, just keep a look out for 6233 on any loaded test runs I presume.

Tyseley are advertising her on static display at their CBS shareholders' event on 23rd October, see if there is any movement next week.

Apparently 6233 was at Kings Cross as part of the production of a new George Clooney film. There is a picture of it on twitter.

It's actually called 'The Boys in the Boat', which about the University of Washington rowing VIII, who, whilst seen as the underdogs, won gold for USA at the 1936 Munich Olympics.

Despite the American storyline, it's being made in Britain (hence the filming at KX). I understand from our crew that George Clooney now has a soft spot for LMS 'Pacifics'.

Sloppy journalism and lack of interest strike again... As with the first article referring to KX as a "Train station". Gets right up my pipe, that does.
