I asked "what can I do?"
The driver said "hold that chain, it's important, don't let go!"
I've been holding it for over half an hour now, nothings happened and no one's come back, wonder why?

 

I can see clearly now the flies have gone, can see all obstacles in my way......... penultimate day at Bury before departure for Derbyshire pastures.

 

Totally off topic but a memory of that song, which has since always had a special appeal. I was driving along the road listening to the radio when the heavens opened. The downpour was so torrential that the wipers couldn't cope and, like everyone else, I pulled in to the side and stopped, at which point the DJ announced, "And now for Johnny Nash with . . ."

 

Having recently posted a picture of Bluebell loco crew watering the Adams Tank at Sheffield Park in 1983 (post #428) here is a similar view taken 36 years later in 2019.


Whatever may have changed during the intervening years, the atmosphere remains the same.
