Doesn't the "Royal Scotsman" set have a Mk 1 converted to an observation saloon with a veranda?

In my wild imaginings there's a coach with the sides set in two feet so passengers could lean out of the windows to take photographs of the scenery...

Well if Pendennis goes "On-Tour" to the GCR, then you can get this experience....Which really excited my grandchildren!

The Royal Scotsman coach you refer to is now classified as a lounge car with an open veranda. It was converted from a BR built Met Cam First Class Pullman, No. 319 "Snipe".

Here is the business end of the coach in some peoples dream scenerio attached to Meatin Walker's Deltic 55022 (pretending to be 55003)- taken at Tulloch in May 2015. Alas there were no appreciative passengers riding on the veranda when the Deltic took the train to Mallaig the next day - the object of having loads of money seems to be lost to most people on such trains:(!

Sorry, this is nothing to do with Pendennis Castle. My Apology.

At the risk of prolonging the discussion ... you can't beat a bit of Ww action pounding up a 1 in 50 gradient ...

Looks fantastic, so much better than those ugly double chimney versions - even if they are more efficient :)

Still going for the "drive it like you stole it" approach I see. Plus a nice bit of priming too, no wonder it's leaking like a sieve.
