Good Lord, what are they using?! Tyres or creosote coated sleepers?
On a more serious note are WCRC trying out different coal sources?

Obviously it’s not uncommon as 6201 did the same for a few seconds a while back on the NB .

 

Saw the films. All seemed well operationally today.

 

They use Russian coal but I suspect they had got to the bottom of the tender and found some old rubbish. It started at the bottom of the Langho straight and finished before they got to the tunnel.

Are you sure? For most NP members, a big cloud of black smoke doesn't get the pulses racing to anything like the same degree as an argument about the size of the cabside numerals, a discussion about whether Tangmere should be renumbered 21C167 and painted in Malachite green or a debate on how much the diesel was shoving at the rear.

 

Like that David,always good to see different locations.
