    The eyes rigged up by Peter and Steve moved by wireless remote control. Seem to remember some fun with that.
    There was/is a nightclub over Hagside crossing and the revellers leaving their Saturday night out were most taken aback as Thomas the Tank(ed up) shuffled past.

    Sorry for the thread drift in the Steam Traction section, but I was just wondering if it would be technically possible for an EM1 or EM2 to run on the Manchester Metrolink.

    I'm not sure how far they'd get given that the stations on the former mainline sections have been profiled for the trams. Tyne & Wear Metro is less implausible. Just.

    Beat me to it! The ELR occasionally supply a diesel shutter for engineering trains on certain parts of the Metrolink network. On this occasion, none of the suitable diesels were in working order so the Austerity was used!
