I'll clarify with them what is happening so hopefully they will be able to respond better in future.

The programs will certainly be available Thursday well in advance of shops and booking offices opening. They are being collected from the printers tomorrow. I don't know if they will be collected in time to also sell them tomorrow.

TBA is 2857, tender first workings are necessary because of HOBC Ballast workings and tight turn rounds at MD.

We've certainly advertised that the Triangle and Turntable are in use but we haven't said they'll be used every time.

All but 2 runs on Saturday are scheduled to be forward facing (except WN locals and CH Goods Shuttles). This may change in the event of late running.

I believe tickets have a 12 hour cut off period so if you say want to attend on Saturday you'll be able to book until 9pm Friday but I can't say that for certain.

Profuse apologies. It was I that you spoke to. You referred to Nat Pres and an announcement on the web
site an hour previous. I clarified that you were referring to the WSR site and not Nat Pres. I could find no
new clarification on the WSR site, expressed my ignorance and finished the conversation that
I apologised for being unable to help and suggested you might phone again this am. ( my thought
process being that by then the changes to the website would be known )

i subsequently discovered, after the call, that in fact there had been no further posting to the WSR site
i,e it remained as a £10 discount off a mega train booking if in possession of a Gala/Rover ticket.
Unfortunately by then your call was some way back so I was unable to call back. ( Encouragingly for the
Railway, calls re the Gala were continuous yesterday )

Once again, apologies for my misunderstanding. Hope you have a good visit to the Gala and specifically
your time on the Mega train.

    Michael Rowe.

I've just called into Bishops Lydeard station shop, and they have the gala programmes available for purchase :)

2857 has also arrived and is in the loco shed there.

I sadly can't get to WSR for this weekends gala but wishing Seb and his team as well as everyone who volunteers at WSR the very best of success for this gala. They all really deserve it.

I suppose at least I have the Railcam to see things.

Thankyou for the moral support. We are hoping for a great weekend and despite some set backs we are getting there slowly

May I also wish the gala well? And thanks for all your hard work, Seb and team. I have tickets for Sat and Sun and am really looking forward to the gala.

That's useful to know. While I would like to attend, other stuff seems to be conspiring against me and I probably won't know until Friday afternoon what I'm doing Saturday.

75069 was being unloaded from the lorry at BL this morning, so not sure if it will be running at all today.

Very enjoyable first visit to the WSR for me today. Staff all polite & friendly, and the carriages were clean & tidy.

Some of the workings were delayed, but didn’t cause me any issues (one of those things really)

My thanks to those involved with organising the gala, and of course those working in their various roles across the railway today.

I look forward to returning for more gala events in the future.

    Kind regards

    Ben

Weather good, saw Std 4 tender arrive at 9.15.

Eventually photographed the Caledonian Railway 0-4-4.

Fantastic day at the WSR today! Steam, sun, beer and a pasty, not much else I could want!

I was certainly impressed with the crew on the 7828 Goods working this morning! Really felt like a curtain raiser!

Seems 419 was having issues of some kind, I caught the WN-BL local working and we sat at Stogumber for about 10mins, presumably waiting for pressure to build, but it was nice to see something totally different.

Thanks to all involved and hope the other 3 days are a success!

Timetable already appears to have gone astray, apparently due to 419 having problems with the gradients!

My dad has gone today just looked to see how it was going. Do I assume they are still waiting for the 09:50 from MD to arrive at Crowcombe?

1110 off Lydeard just departed 92 mins late from Crowcombe. Hearing rumours 419 may be pulled and class 33 substitute for it on Sat and Sunday.
