If all the faults with the carriage carbuncle are blamed on the architects, I doubt that they will be using them again.

Its immediate future lies as a car park for loco staff . For the bit just through the hedge.
Hedge broken through, fence erected to prevent crews getting wet by falling in the pond and the car park area has had new stone surfacing laid by pw staff.
Apparently just needs a new padlock.

Good to see the J27 in use today on the NYMR, some time since NELPG has had two locos in operation on the Moors.

What with UK fireboxes tending to be <50sq/ft, one supposes the transition would needs be one pig at a time! :Pompus:

Does wild boar taste the same? The pig farm is derelict, and has been for some years I think, so its only inhabitants are likely to be "free range" examples.

Have wild boar got this far north?
Never mind bacon butties, the geese there would do well at Christmas.

Just got back from the NYMR where it's diesel haulage due to a lineside fire which occurred yesterday.
Class 37s handling most of the traffic with the DMU substituted for the LNER set.

And now for something completely different, when was the last time two EE type 3 loco's were in action on the Moors? If ever.

If firecon continues they will need more. The class 31 has gone back to Boness, and the class 24/25s are under overhaul/repair.

I’m sure it’s happened before, just need to find some dates! I think Thornaby might have sent a pair in the past and has 275 or 350 visited whilst 264’s been based there?

There are still a laundry list of issues to rectify before it can enter service, I gather it's being worked on primarily by volunteers at the moment. Stored in the Carriage Shed for safe keeping.

Wasn't the carriage shed designed with heavy influence from that Kieron bloke who is the C&W manager ?

It was designed by the firm of architects who had designed the KWVR's carriage shed at Oxenhope, which they believed to be the acme of design for such buildings, and based largely on that although the KWVR's was favoured with walls. I don't believe there was much consultation with Kieran or anyone else who was likely to be an actual user of it (at least, anyone that I knew of!).
