A young lad gazes at 5029 Nunney Castle during a waterstop at Plymouth.. I wonder what he was thinking.

I often wonder Johnb , how many commuters/member of the public are genuinely surprised when a steam c soecial like this turns up. Especially the steam specials..... as duesels and electrics are still pretty modern to the public's eye. Even the likes of Sarah Siddons the Metropoliton Electric..........

I think a lot were surprised to see steam on the Underground sadly a sight that won’t be repeated. When I’m travelling with 35028 I do look at the reactions of people on the platform, a lot just dive for their phone to take pictures

Steam specials might be reasonably common - less so on the Underground with a rake of 120 year old carriages!
