You're quite correct - 69023 has definitely been to Swanage; I can find a couple of photo prints of her behind 30053 at Swanage shed in 1992, and indeed the NELPG website mentions it also (although dateless).

I stand corrected! Still, I'm delighted about 65894's visit.

Of course the K&ESR is not strictly speaking a former Southern line, at least if you regard Southern as Southern Railway. It was part of the BR Southern Region from 1948 so I guess Southern in that sense.
    Lambton 0-6-2T No 29 visited the K&ESR in 2006 - that's based on the NYMR but I don't know if it's a NELPG loco?

What like one certain Ex General Manager, who did his best to alienate much of the railway against him, Has the current one decided to move on to pastures new?

    Quite so.

A bad GM can ruin a railway.

Is the new chimney yet to be fitted a Stroudley pattern?

Stroudley improved green and tall lamp irons - it might not be 100% authentic but by golly it looks good.

Although I'm otherwise engaged on the Jubilee weekend of her return, I shall definitely be making a visit to see her running at the earliest opportunity thereafter.

Same here, its nice to see a loco roster has appeared back on the website so should help for when she is running!

Given the amount of guests the KESR has in at the moment, would be nice to see a summer gala?

don't tell meg, she might think clothing is optional
Thinking back to the amount of work that went into painting number 3 into black ( i was the person who did it) i hope they at least had a good surface to flatten back this time round, if i remember rightly, the tank covers really took a lot of work to prep when i did them, to get a good flat surface before i could even think about primer, then base coat.

The tank covers have been worked on in advance of the rest of the loco.
