We could have a game of "spot the differences". Over the years those two old ladies have been around quite a few bits and pieces must have changed.

In these two cases, you've got chimney, sandboxes, tank vents, bunker, brakes and lamp irons, just from what's visible in the photo...

 

Were the Fratton allocation maintained by Brighton or Eastleigh (he asks, tentatively ruling out Ashford!!)?

 

Smokebox doors differ too, certainly on 2678.

 

And different smokebox mounted brasswork (snifting valves or lubricators?)

 

Drift lubricators. They provide lubrication to the cylinders when the regulator is shut and the supply of oil admitted with the steam is absent.

Sometimes I really hate predictive text…

 

And the odd one out is......."Sutton", which isn't really Sutton at all. No. 50 (32650) was originally Whitechapel whereas the original Sutton was No. 61 (32661) and was the last Terrier to be scrapped.
