Wouldnt Class 40 bogies be more suitable?

Need to have a bit more of a through trawl for the relevent gen but Im pretty sure the bogies under class 40's are derived from those under 10201/3. They share similar DNA as both are from the EE family, where as Peaks are from the BR/Sulzer side. As I say Im not sure if its a similer bogie design but I'll check. Not sure how many but a few 40 bogies have been converted to Beilhack Snowploughs again I wouldnt know how much work it would take to reconvert them to their original spec.

Yes this engine is in a very bad condition (wreck) and with no spares for it, it will be very expensive to get it back working as I saw it last July.

To raise this thread up from the bowels of NP, it's being suggested elsewhere that the Battlefield Line is now the owner of this demic hulk. Presumably the aim now will be to consign the remains to history?

I think they've ended up with it by default, in lieu of rent owed by the owner. Not much they can do with it now except scrap it, but as it's still full of asbestos it's not going to be cheap.

I just felt my bones trying to escape my body reading that. Right well, the rest of this thread won't get any better until we can confirm its been ground up like a lame Grand National entrant.

Paul I know where your coming from, however I do wonder if someone’s asking a question about 45015 on this thread is maybe after a bit of attention? especially when there’s more details on herehttps://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/45015-being-scrapped-finally.224341/ it doesn’t take much to either use a search engine or email someone like the peak locomotive society to get the information you need.

Nope. Alf is an old school poster with just as daft a set of ideas as CoTF and that other one I have on Ignore just he had the drive to do some form of it. I think the semi-abandoned DMU in Wales was one of his clangers, he was taking the Asbestos home in the car. If the South Bedfordshire thread hasn't been nuked then that would be a good place to start. He was banging on for years about saving 45015 a long while ago but slinked off.

Edit: there was also an illicit mainline trip with a shunter that got back to the authorities.

I think we can cut Asbestos Alf a bit of slack for not knowing all the ins and outs of what's happening with 45015, considering he's probably not been allowed near a computer for the last 6 years.

I don't feel entirely happy with the forum allowing a convicted paedophile to freely post on here. And yes, it is the same person. The addresses given on the court report and Companies House for South Bedfordshire Railway match.

Edit - I see he's now showing as account suspended. Thank you to whoever did that.

Well that took a darker turn that I expected. Good work from the mods for suspending him.

With the thread on RailForums now locked, please can someone confirm: Has 45015 been scrapped, or is it imminently going to be?

Last Saturday it was still sat in a siding at Shakerstone looking as unloved as ever, but not even slightly cut.
