    17 JUNE 2022 - FORTH EVENING TOUR FROM EDINBURGH WAVERLEY

    Further to our email yesterday, as of 1st June, Steam Dreams is now part of the biggest heritage train group in the world - Locomotive Services Group (LSG) who own a number of steam locomotives.

    This now means for your trip from Edinburgh Waverley on Friday 17th June the rostered locomotive will be Royal Scot, the flagship locomotive of the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company. Built in 1927 Royal Scot was the first in a new breed of steam locomotives built by LMS for their fastest passenger services from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. This is exciting news for all of us at Steam Dreams and we have no doubt will make your trip from Edinburgh Waverley even more special.

    Behind Royal Scot, passengers will be seated in a new rake of coaches, LSG’s totally refurbished InterCity 1970’s set, lovingly restored to the highest standards. The carriages are light and comfortable, with air-conditioning, wide cushioned seats and original panoramic windows ensuring passenger comfort is to the fore.     When you step on board you will be welcomed by the same friendly team with all the usual Steam Dreams touches you would traditionally expect and the usual high standard of culinary delights. If you have paid a supplement to sit at a private table for two in dining this will also still be guaranteed.

    Once we have final timings from Network Rail we will be issuing your tickets and other important details which will be sent out by email and first class post (if requested).

    Interesting choice of coaching stock !
    No smell of steam, no sound of the engine, no coal smuts on the tables.
    A totally sterile non authentic experience .
