I hope this the right place for this question - am I right to assue the SD Weymouth trip is off on 23 June? The tour sites still have it listed, but SD's does not. A casualty of the strikes or abandoned anyway? BTW, is anyone else seeing screens on this site with adverts down the side obscuring the content? I keep submitting my Google choices as 'ad covered content' but they keep on coming - very annoying!

I find that if its pulled from the official tour operator site then it has been cancelled.

Not certain that Google will be your friend on Ad choices! Try Plan B.

Try downloading and installing an adblocker-that might help. If you still want to see ads on a particular site you can exclude that site from the adblocker.

Normally I ignore them but they started appearing as vertical banners at each side on this site, obscuring significant portions of the content. They've gone again today. Anyway, the SD Weymouth trip is off, then. I hadn't previously been aware of whether it was on their site at all, hence the question. I wondered, too, if it had simply been fully-booked and not shown, but I assume it's a strike victim.

I would guessed more likely a resource victim following the sale. I think it had gone from the site as soon as the sale was announced.

Any thoughts on the likelihood of the Southampton trip on the 14th going ahead? It's still on their site, but the volatility at present makes this far from conclusive.

It's confirmed as 45231 and there's a sunset run 2 days before, so I'd assume it would go ahead with the stock staying for the week.

Thanks. Do you yet know the likely rake to be used?

Nope. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was the Intercity set again. See what's on the Sunset run for anyone planning to see the Southampton trip in hopes for decent stock!

All tours now have a loco listed, either 45231 or Braunton.

With a Saphos trip on the 13th, I think is likely to be the Intercity stock.

Maybe, despite LSL acknowledging publicly that the stock is not appropriate. Needs must, I suppose... Edit - Railway Herald has an ECS from Crewe for the 13th, whereas the 12th's SSE stock comes from Southall and returns there, suggesting different rakes for each train. However, this is RH...

I wouldn't rely on RH. They have listed the Saphos Golden Hind on Wednesday as steam throughout from Bristol TM to Plymouth and return.
Unless traction can be exchanged at Bristol TM in two minutes my money is on an exchange at Taunton (as mentioned on the Saphos website).

Victoria to Winchester. The black 5 giving a lusty impersonation of working hard up the bank to Byfleet Junction

Not that the passengers in their air-con comfort would ever know.

A rewarding morning. Heard it before I saw it at Wandsworth Town and I've filmed there many times without hearing it prior. Needed to get away after being held by a late running service train at Clapham. Even more interestingly it was put on the fast out of Woking, a nice bonus, and sounding good despite the weather. Let's hope it can stay this way or we get some rain:

A good start vanished as time was lost rapidly after Woking. I was meeting friends in Portsmouth and went via Winchester to see it there. No luck; it was 15 down and my Portsmouth train overtook it after Basingstoke so I had to abort to catch it and missed seeing it (19L at Winchester). An emergency on the SWML later on saw major delays out of Waterloo. Return leg already 22L after Soton. Edit - glad to see it recovered well later.
