Sunset Steam Express. Selected Tuesdays, July/August 2022 (Windsor trips cancelled)

Early trip still on their website for next week.

 

70000 is currently based at the WSR for the Riveria Trips, however 70000 was failed and I believe still is unable to run, so 34046 was sent there last week to cover her. I'm guessing the A4 is currently in the process of being painted Blue, and I don't think, unless DB Crews are being hired by LSL for this, that 35028 will be available. That leaves 46100 and 45231, although they could in theory send 34046 from the WSR. I wonder if LSL would rather send one of their locos down to Southall to be based there for the rest of the season.

The stock is being brought down from Crewe on Monday, but there's no sign of a loco movement yet.

45231 is out of action as well. LSL steam fleet is currently 34046 and 46100.

 

What about 61306?

 

She's still at Crewe having her air brakes fitted

So chances are they'll either keep toing and froing 34046 from the WSR or bring 46100 down. Of course they'll still need a loco for their trips from Crewe as well.

 

That will need to have an air pump and air brake controls fitted before it can be used

 

The Steam Dreams website now says 'Black 5' for 28/06 so would assume 45231.

Steam Dreams have now 'officially' added 45231 to their locomotives list, rather than just stating 'A Black 5' will be hauling the trip, and its confirmed on the website that she's doing the next 2 weeks (28th June and 5th July) of the season. Still no confirmed loco for the rest, but can't imagine it would be anything else unless they're hoping Mayflower's back by then

 

Seems the evening circular is only on next Tuesday (28th) and now no longer the daytime trips

5th July is now where the daytime trips resume

 

Yup, timings for the Windsor trip are gone from RTT. Wonder why its been postponed.

 

The paths are allocated to West Coast, maybe they are using them.

 

Looking at RTT for Tuesday, nothing is shown as using the Windsor paths.
