Twooooo questions about the WHR heritage train (sort of)!

Firstly, any news on the Pickering Break Composite? Looks like a cracking carriage!

And secondly - http://www.heritagetrain.co.uk/fleet.html - what carriage is that immediately behind Moel Tryfan?? Is that also part of the future heritage train project?????

That is one of the 1870s Ashbury brake/composites that were replaced by the much superior Pickerings. Could be wrong, but the nameplate looks more like Snowdon Ranger than Moel Tryfan. But the main thing is not to give anyone ideas about replicating the (by all accounts) dreadful 6-wheeler furthest from the loco in that picture... :-$

It is definetly Moel Tryfan - http://www2.whr.co.uk/s/history/gallery/32_MoelTryfan

Is the Pickering Brake Composite a new build? If so has it been started at all?

Well No. 25 landed on the WHHR last Wednesday, it still requires finishing off.

Can't wait to see it next to the Gladstone, toast rack and the buffet car in May...

The replica of original WHR carriage Number 25 has now arrived at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway. Pictures are here:

There’s still plenty of work to do to get this carriage ready for service, including several more coats of paint (outside) and varnish (inside), as well as fitting couplings and machining door handles. To raise money to cover this work, we’re auctioning a ticket for the first Baldwin-hauled train on the WHR on 2nd May. You’ll also get a cup of tea from the newly restored WHR Buffet Car as it makes its first revenue earning trip since the 1930s. Details are here:

Or you can just give us some money ;-) £15 or more and you get to travel on the Baldwin train:

    Have fun,

    CHRIS
