Ah, got it now - thankyou.

(It was the frameset - I did a CTRL-F5 to force a reload, but it only reloaded the frameset, not the individual page...)

    News on the Bluebell website:

"The loco is now in the paint shop at Horsted Keynes for final painting, transfers and lining, and then there is a little more work to do on the electrics (and fitting smoke deflectors) before the re-launch into service.

We are pleased to announce that on Friday 24th April No.34059 "Sir Archibald Sinclair" will be formally launched into traffic at Horsted Keynes station. The special ceremony will take place at 11am in the presence of Viscount Thurso, the grandson of Sir Archibald Sinclair himself.
The locomotive will then haul a special Golden Arrow Pullman for invited guests.
On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April, the locomotive will haul its first public timetabled trains. It will haul the 11am, 1pm and 3pm services from Sheffield Park on these days. "

She is bound to have a question mark against her and probably has not been updated on the Bluebell website.

I go by the Bulledi Society website as this is updated alot of the time.

    OFFICAL RE-NAMING

The Viscount John Thurso MP, grandson of Sir Archibald Sinclair, has agreed to perform the re-naming ceremony on Friday 24 April 2009. This will take place at Horsted Keynes station on platform 2 at 11.00. 34059 will then haul a special Golden Arrow Pullman for invited guests.

    FIRST PUBLIC TRAINS

On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April, the locomotive will haul its first public timetabled trains. It will haul the 11am, 1pm and 3pm services from Sheffield Park on these days.

So hauling her first public service trains I will certainly be there for that - Hope to see some of you there!!.....

The question mark is regarding the second loco required to operate the 2 train service. The info on the link is normally fairly reliable, but it has been known for locos to swap around diagrams or not even appear.

Great to hear that another Bulleid is about to steam again. Going by the amount of interest in the loco every man and his dog will be at the Bluebell Railway this coming weekend.

So the Bluebell Website says next weekend and the Bulleid Society website says late April? Is this cross wires or a mistype?

The page with the incorrect information has been changed to show the correct info.

The April dates are the correct ones for 34059 Sir Archibald Sinclair to enter traffic.

its a shame she wont be getting much of workout on the bluebells frankly rather weedy gradients, she is a beautifully restored loco though

Perhaps the Bluebell could arrange an exchange visit with the NYMR in rerturn for 30926? Then she'd get a workout and the Schools could have a bit of a rest!

1 in 75 is hardly weedy. Granted it's no Tenterden or Grosmont, but then what is? The SVR or WSR don't have much of a gradient either.

The WSR is 1 in 65 and 1 in 74 in some places... the MHR is considered steep and that is 1 in 60.

Maybe the Bluebell can lend her to the MHR for a bit to give her a good thrashing! \:D/

Don't worry she will be in safe hands and well cared and looked after!!!

There are short sections of 1 in 60 and 1 in 63 on the Bluebell. Gradient profile can be found at http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/map_grad.html
