Is there any information anywhere on the interweb about proposals for larger locos for the IoMR that someone can point me in the direction of, please?

The only references I have seen are the proposals in Boyd, not looked at them for a while but from memory they are just line drawings. The late Brian Caton built a model of at least one of the proposals

I'd be interested to learn more. The only proposal I'm aware of (beyond those rebuilds of Nos.4-6 as carried out) was for a 2-4-2T, sort of stretched Mannin, although the Wall Street Crash and subsequent depression put paid to that.

Good lord! That would have been something. Imagine that on a rake of high-capacity kipper wagons out of Peel...

I think there is a line drawing of it in David Lloyd Jones's book, 'An Introduction Of Modelling The Isle Of Man Steam Railways'

Another busy week on the IMR with heavily loaded trains. IoM Transport have announced that, on Saturday, there will be a more frequent service (timetable S) in connection with the World Tin Bath Championships in Castletown. Work on MNR No.4 Caledonia is just about complete and was in steam again yesterday, outside Douglas shed, as No.11 departed on the 15.50 to Port Erin. Photos courtesy of Heritage Railway Volunteers.
We are less than 2 weeks away from the Summer Transport Festival and there is still time to book some of the special events. Further information and updates can be found at https://www.facebook.com/hrviom/

Here's one from a previous year courtesy of the Beeb..... Oh! and they have a man-powered flight event as well which usually ends in someone having an impromptu dip in the harbour. At least it'll be a bit warmer this year.
    Cheers,
    Ray.

Seen from a passing train earlier today MNR No.4 Caledonia waits in the loop at Port Soderick with ballast hopper F70. This was in connection with a ballast drop near Crogga Pond. Photo from IoMSRSA.

The Summer Heritage Transport is in full swing and can be followed on the Heritage Railway Volunteers Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hrviom/ with lots of photos of the events including ones of the David Hennesy photo charter the day before. This evening we have a fully booked photo session in Douglas with double departures along the Peel line including Caley and the recently restored MNR Cleminson. Tomorrow's events include the ever popular workshop tours in Douglas. Last night's Pie 'N Mash was strengthened with a couple of extra carriages for non-diners and double headed by Nos. 4 & 11. The photo below shows the 8 coach train shortly before departure at 19.00 (courtesy IoMSRSA).
    Cheers,
    Ray.
