Don't forget 80097, which needs a retube at present. Plus 47298, though I'm not sure how much use it'll see.

Edit - @Ben Jenden just beat me to it.

I'm amassed that it needs a re tube after 3 1/2 years and a lot of that will have been spent not working due to covid.

Poor quality materials or the boiler not being looked after?

"Inferior tubes from a now defunct supplier" was what someone stated on the Facebook group

Wikipedia says the Jinty is due to head to a private railway? Don't know how accurate that is.

Does the ELR need locos more powerful than class 2/3?

Wasn't there a batch of poor tubes a few years ago that affected a lot of locos? Don't know if it was the same supplier.

Wiki could state that 4472 is off to Foxfield, and it still wouldn't be true.

Yeah that was it. Though not 100% sure what other locos had the same tube issues from the same batch

Read last night in the mag that 52322 is off to Yorkshire for its holidays again, so another one down.

Maybe, but there was a rumour that 47298 was off to a private site doing the rounds although no one has confirmed or denied it.

If anyone confirmed or denied it, it would no longer be a rumour :)

You can deny a rumour but it may still persist !

52322 is due to return in September. Booked to finish early September, it’s been very kindly agreed for the loco to stay an extra couple of weeks to accommodate photo charters, including ours on the 8th Sept .

Evidence says you can completely and utterly disprove it and it will still persist !

The tubes material wise are fine, the failures are believed to be down to other factors

Last time I asked about the Crab round here, I had my head bitten off. It was on track until the theft of materials but I'd have thought it would have come on and be close to steaming again. 7229 was making good progress I thought but I think I was wrong last time I asked.

Are you thinking about the one at Ribble perhaps?
