A simple shot of 35018 approaching then being held at the signal just after Settle Junction before restarting the train:

Microphone batteries failed so there is some wind interference unfortunately.

My thanks to those of you who posted kind remarks about my first attempt at a pan shot, I can't see a repeat anytime soon - but what do I know! It reminded me just how fortunate we are on NP to have so many excellent videos (and photos) posted on the forum. These are available for free but require considerable time and expense and no little skill (as I discovered) by many contributors, so thanks again. Now where did I put those rubber bands?

YouTube popped this up as an offer when I was watching something else.
Quite an interesting piece on an afternoon of chaos at Carlisle when the overhead wires were down on Beattock.
Some shots of BIL coming and going of course.

Despite Rail Advent announcing that tomorrow's Dalesman is cancelled, I am assured it is still on, but diesel hauled throughout. NR is not going to lift the steam ban yet despite some areas having had considerable rain in the last 2/3 days.

And disable stability assist too, as, unsuprisingly, it tries to keep the image steady, which is not what is wanted. It can, ironically, make the result more jerky.

If you can't find them, just follow your postman. Ours seem to leave plenty in their wake.:)

As you might expect, it has rained here in East Lancashire Friday/Saturday/Sunday, and it's ratted it down this morning before fining up just before lunch. My empty 200 litre water but is filled to overflowing!

I think my source assumes that I am familiar with the WCR diesel fleet and therefore only needs to quote the last 3 digits, I'm not, hence I can only quote what I get. :(

I would be grateful if anyone travelling on tomorrow's Pendle Dalesman can record and then post a time for the climb from Ormside to the Aisgill summit sign. I am keeping a record of all posted times for the year. [Pleases see post #63 above for full details].

Thanks in anticipation and enjoy. Remember, "Oswald needs YOUR time!"

With rain forecast from late evening today until lunchtime tomorrow let's hope BIL is allowed to go it alone - not long to wait to find out.
