    At the EMF AGM last Saturday, it was suggested that 7812 wouldn't be ready in time for the gala. They had been working towards it, but time was just a bit too tight. Probably back from Tyseley in October, and certainly available for Christmas as I understood it.

    A Facebook post has confirmed there won't be any overnight running this year to conserve coal. There will however be late evening trains at least. Understandable and perhaps not unexpected.

    I’m not sure why they couldn’t confirm that yesterday when they released the tickets for sale, it’s not like the decision was made overnight. Certainly would have saved a lot of people asking that question in the first place.
